Although Christmas is over Winter is in full season! If you don’t have snow in your neck of the woods how about creating some of your own to hang in the window!
- 3 sheets of 8½” by 11″ heavyweight paper
- 1 sheet for the larger loops (shown in red)
- 2 sheets for the smaller loops (shown in gold)
- X-acto knife
- Ruler
- ½” double-sided tape
- 18″ piece of ribbon
Directions:
Step 1: Cut Strips
Cut your paper into 1″-wide strips. You will need seven 8″-long strips for the larger loops, twelve 6″-long strips for the smaller loops.
Step 2: Make Loops
Using your double-sided tape, make all of your strips into loops. Double-sided tape should be strong enough for most papers but, if needed, you can use regular clear tape on the outside of your seams to make your loops extra secure.
Step 3: Assemble the Spokes
To make the spokes of your snowflake, use double-sided tape to attach two small loops to a large loop—one attached to the inside, one to the outside. You should have one large loop remaining. This is the center of your snowflake.
Step 4: Attach the Spokes
Arrange your spokes around the center loop and attach them with double-sided tape.
Step 5: Attach Loops
Use double-sided tape to attach the sides of your spokes together.
Step 6: Attach Ribbon
Tie on your ribbon and hang!
Other Ideas:
*Experiment with different papers
* Pinch loops into petal shape (Middle snowflake shown in picture above)
