At my site Friday is known as “Friday Free Day” meaning there is not a set curriculum for the day and the kids have the freedom to have fun and just be kids! By being spontaneous with what we do for the day allows the children to let loose a bit at the end of a long week and bring a special toy or personal item from home. This is a great tool that I use during the week to encourage kids to have positive behavior and work towards the privilege of bringing a special toy from home. If a child has had a rough week and has not behaved behaviorally well multiple times, then they may loose the privilege of bringing their special item to school. This has work extremely well in our class, the kids really work hard to earn to bring that special something to school and thinks its neat to be able to share with their other buddies, and rarely do I have a kid that looses that privilege.
So this Friday I am doing my own Friday Free Day on TwoHeartsTogether! This is a different type of Free Day, I will be giving away something for FREE!
A little info about what I will be giving away:
My cousin Kelsie started a bow/headband company for children based out of Bend, Oregon. She is so talented at what she does and her pieces come from her heart and passions for children. I would give the beautiful gift to My four year old Grandaughter who is very much a girly gir1! she LOVES all kinds of pretty thing for her hair. And if she knew where they came for it would be that much more special to her.
